Dark Desires After Dusk by Kresley Cole

I am ssssssssoooooooooooo glad I finally broke down & bought this series. Awesome! :)

Back Blurb-A seductive beauty he can never have, yet can't resist...

Cade of the rage demons will stop at nothing to atone for the one wrong that will haunt him forever. But once he secures the key to his redemption, the halfling Holly Ashwin, Cade finds that the woman he thought he could use for his own ends and then forget haunts him as much as his past.
A tormented warrior she should fear, but can't deny...

Raised as a human, Holly Ashwin never knew that some frightening legends are real until she encounters a brutal demon who inexplicably guards her like a treasure. Thrust into a sensual new world of myth and power, with him as her protector, she begins to crave the demon’s wicked touch.

Surrender to dark desires...

Yet just when he earns Holly’s trust, will Cade be forced to betray the only woman who can sate his wildest needs—and claim his heart?

Wowzers...that's what I've got to say about this book. Scorching hot and...well, that's all I can say. LOL!

Truthfully, Cadeon's had my attention since he first showed up way back when. He came across as so tormented and messed up. My favorite kind of heroes. *sigh*

Cade has become obsessed with a mortal woman named Holly. She's got a hard-core case of OCD, which he finds fascinating. He knows she's his destined mate, but because she's human he cannot have her. That inability has been dragging him down for months.

When the story is first introduced, Holly is kidnapped by some crazy vampires who believe she is the Vessel, a being who will give birth to a child of either great evil or great good. She's able to get away after being struck by lightning. Major powers show up, bad guys are destroyed and the story starts with Cade finding her in the aftermath. Turns out she's a Valkyrie. Now, I'm not giving you any details that the backblurb doesn't hint at, so don't get made at me for telling you this. Trust me when I say that it's a very small piece in a very large puzzle.

Cade, knowing she's his destined mate, but being concerned with helping his brother get back his crown, has a difficult choice to make. Does he take her as his mate or does he give her to Omort in trade for a sword that can kill his brother's enemy? Choices, choices, choices. :)

Cade is tortured, sexier than sexy and totally gaga for his woman. He doesn't hold back that he's totally into her, which throws her in a tizzy. See, Holly has always known there's something "wrong" with her and has suppressed herself to the point where she's got a hard-core case of OCD. Everything has to be in its place, otherwise she starts to come unhinged.

This book is a non-stop action-packed crazy adventure. It's also hotter than all of the rest of her books combined. The scene on the hood of the car? I think my panties ignited. LOL!

Holly has her issues & works throughout the book to overcome them. It's very entertaining to watch her deny Cade's need for sex and the way she handles him is very, very enjoyable.

The sex is imaginative and scorching, the growth of their relationship is very cool and the way the end happens? Le sigh.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. Cadeon is now on my list of hottest heroes ever.

My Rating: A

Actually, she gets attacked by demons, which makes more sense, since the vampire's wouldn't be able to bang her out, anyway...
