I know! It's shocking! :)



Amazingly enough I have been reading a LOT this month, but have been busy otherwise, so blogging has kind of fallen on the wayside at the moment. I have a couple of biggies that I'm working on right now.



One of them is a guest post by my friend Renee. I challenged her to read a Nora Roberts book and she challenged me to read Josh Lanyon. She will be posting her thoughts here and I will be posting mine on her blog. I'm very excited!



I'm in the midst of reading the Black Jewel Trilogy by Anne Bishop. As much as I love fantasy AND romance, I'm amazed I've never read this series before. I've heard nothing but good things, so I'm excited. Not very far in as of yet, but am enjoying the book thoroughly. I Twittered earlier and said that I have a feeling this book will yank out my heart and smash it to pieces before the books are over though. It's just got that vibe.



I've been reading all over the place this month. I've read historicals, paranormals, contemps, etc. It's a bit crazy. I've got 5 books sitting on my TBR pile, but I want to finish this book first. I'm very excited!



Last month was such a let-down reading-wise, so it's nice to see I'm getting my mojo back! :)



We're doing our hero drafts over on DIK and I'm almost at the bottom. I'm very excited about my pick, though most people probably have never heard of him. Trust me, if you read the book he was from, you'd want him as your hero too. :) Hot, hot, hot (and tall). Yum!

I'm Bad!

Yes, I definitely am. Went shopping for books today. :) What did I buy? Well, let me tell you!

1. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley
2. Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James
3. At Last Comes Love by Mary Balogh
4. Wicked Game by Jeri Smith-Ready


Two of these books I blame on the DIK. They had both Ms. Smith-Ready and Ms. James on the blog and I loved their sense of humor. I decided to try them. So far I've read Lord Ian and Practice Makes Perfect. I'll be reviewing them shortly.

I've really hit a dry spell these last few months. Was beginning to wonder if ANY books would catch my fancy. Happy to say that yes...yes, they did. Whoo-hoo!

Trying Something Different

I've decided to try something just a bit different. Nothing huge! No explosions. No fancy background, no weird graphics or funny noises. Just something...different.

What might that be? Well, here it is in a nutshell. I have dedicated this blog to introducing you to new authors (Delilah for one) and to review books that I've read. Here's the really pathetic part; I don't review 99% of the books I read. Honestly, I don't really have a good reason why, other than to say that I read WAY too much and I think sometimes I get overwhelmed trying to articulate why I love or hate a book.

So, here's what I'm planning on doing. I will review as always, but I would also like to do a couple of things to showcase just how much I love books. Over the next few weeks, I will be talking about my ULTIMATE books. Books that I will treasure until the day I die. Books that touched me in a way that is hard to explain. Some of those books I've already reviewed here and others I've yet to talk about.

Each post that deals with these books will be an opportunity for you to comment and get a chance to read the book I'm discussing. If you've read the book, I would love to hear your comments as well.

I believe it is essential that a person who loves to read share their love of that hobby. For me, reading isn't just a hobby, it's a passion. As the new year looms (less than 3 months, people) and the election grows closer (Ack!) it is imperative that we exercise our freedom to pursue happiness. It's in the Constitution, you know. :)


Any thoughts? Would anybody be interested in doing something like a Round Robin discussion? If more than one of us has read a book, maybe we should look into each reviewing the same book and discussing on each of our blogs why we loved/hated that particular book? Just a thought. Can't hurt to try something different.

And now, I'm off to plot and figure out just which books I'm going to discuss. Should be interesting. :~D

My Favorite Books of 2007

Taking a cue from Kristie J, I'm doing a basic list of my favorite books of this past year. They weren't necessarily written this year, but they were books I found. :) I hope you enjoy!

• -The Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine. This series has been written over the past few years, but I found them this year. Honestly, some of the best books I've read in a LONG time.
• -Caressed by Ice by Nalini Singh
• -The Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian-A much better version of tough vampire hunters than JR Ward.
• -Soul Song by Marjorie M. Liu
• -The Rest Falls Away & Rises the Night by Colleen Gleason
• -For a Few Demons More by Kim Harrison
• -Driven by Eve Kenin (Shomi Imprint)
• -Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
• -Mine 'til Midnight by Lisa Kleypas

I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones that come to me right now. If I think of more, I'll add them. All in all, 2007 was a great year for some amazing books. Here's hoping 2008 will be the same! :)

*Edited to Add...Sheesh! How could I forget Patricia Briggs & her Mercy Thompson books? I just read Iron Kissed last night. All I can say is Whoa! Will blog more about it later.

Welcome to My New Blog!

Thank you for visiting my blog. This is new for me. I'm very excited to be doing this. I've been reading since I can remember & would like to share my thoughts and views on books I'm reading.



My tastes run the gamut from romance to true-crime. I tend to avoid self-help and books on spirituality due to taste more than beliefs. I also want to state that I read EXTREMELY fast, so if you happen to see more than one review in a day, it's because I've been reading a lot. Just an FYI, so you don't think I've been hoarding reviews all this time. :)
